Welcome to my online studio. I invite you
to browse and enjoy my unique, elegant and
dynamic paintings. I offer all original paintings -
miniatures to larger sizes.
I've been having a lot of fun lately exploring
spontaneous landscape compositions, with my
subject matter of trees in landscapes. Japanese
ink, mixed (in some cases) with watercolor is the
medium I'm using. Several of these new works
are now posted on this page.
Additional info of projects and shows will be
posted. Stay tuned. *Check out new photos on
my Biography page.
A few words about the method I use:
"The basic concept of Po Mo is that in order for
a painting to show the vitality of nature, it must
be executed in a lively way. The movement of
the brush is completed in a simple, dynamic,
powerful, and speedy manner. It seems as if the
artist is 'throwing ink' and colors onto the rice
paper. The Po Mo method provides the artist
with an ideal tool for capturing the spontaneity of
the interaction of yin and yang. The artist begins
his painting without any draft or preliminary
sketch lines. Strokes and colors are integrated
instantly and decisively while maintaining their
continuity and fluidity. Since only spontaneity is
natural, the brushwork is kept in its original form
without any corrective effort. Spontaneity,
freedom, and honesty are some of the important
principles in this method of painting."
